Pat Jordan Band has grown into a powerful five-piece acoustic-rock band based in Northern California. With a sound carved from hundreds of live shows, and constant drive to evolve and progress, Pat Jordan Band has developed a devoted following spanning from coast to coast, and a style all their own.

There’s a place where sincerity and musical creativity meet, and it’s where Pat Jordan Band and its diverse members have made their home. After years of shows and parties, rehearsals and relentlessly fighting for every last opportunity to play and improve, the band has reached a high-note and is earning their exposure on a scene that could use their presence.

- About the Band -

Roberts purchased his first guitar at the age of 14. A year later, a high school friend introduced him to Fred Mercier, who played a major role in his musical development.

Mercier, who had been playing guitar for a few years and musically trained by a local guitar teacher at the time, took Frank under his wing and taught him some licks, techniques and scales. Together, they developed a passion for composing their own material. By the time Frank was 19, he and Mercier had a few original songs of their own and Frank joined Mercier’s band Marilyn White. Within two weeks, the band was on stage playing in local bars. While the band did not last very long, it was enough for Roberts to realize his burning desire for a musical career.

For the next few years, Frank really flourished as a musician as he focused on improving his guitar technique while also playing a few small gigs. During the same period, he leased some equipment from a local music store and recorded his first demo. It is while he was working on his project that Frank developed an interest for the engineering aspect of the musical creation process. Soon after, he landed a job as an assistant to the sound engineer for a local recording studio. Frank later reunited with Fred Mercier and longtime friend JF Daigle on bass (Twin Shy, Psychodelia, Sleazy Way Out) for a French rock demo project, for which Roberts wrote all lyrics. After a few unsuccessful auditions to find a vocalist for the project, Frank enrolled with the Montreal Trebas Institute for a degree in sound engineering after what he worked for a short period of time as an assistant to the sound engineer at the highly regarded Studio 451 in Verdun, PQ.

Following his college year, Roberts produced a few demos for local singer/songwriters and was back working on his own material in 2006-2007 with a hard rock project called “Fragments of Soul”. Roberts has since relocated to Hamilton, ON where he spent the last year working on new instrumental material. These new tracks showcasing Roberts’ stylistic approach to guitar harmonies can be heard on his debut self-produced EP “Change in Motion”, to be released at the end of 2012 under the label Wildfrog Music.

After several years of collaborating with fellow musicians and producing demos for local singers/songwriters, Montreal native Frank Roberts has since relocated to Hamilton and is now stepping up to the plate with a work of his own; “Change in Motion”.

About the Band –  Between Falls was formed in late 2012, and already caught the ears of rock lovers around the world.

Their short history started when Vic Zislin, songwriter and guitarist, gathered with his three friends, Ilana Winter (vocals), James L. Woodward (vocals and guitars) and Idan Shinberg (Bass) from their former group Sixth Sense, and together they decided to revive their muse and set on a new musical journey, naming the project Between Falls.

Their debut album, “Intimate Getaway”, is due to be released towards the end of 2013.

Between Falls is an alternative rock and post grunge band. The inspiration of the group is ascribed to Seattle of the early 90′s. The vibes of bands such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, with their hard rock riffs and charismatic singing, are all over the music of Between Falls. Alternative and progressive rock, as well as more recent post-grunge and nu-metal styles have also made a great impact on the band’s sound.

In their repertoire you’ll hear melodic ballads that perfectly accord with high pace and edgy tunes, the sounds of acoustic guitar harmonize with the dirty distortion sound, the gloomy and sad but also meaningful lyrics that fill you with hope and love.

Aside the influential variety of the band, their two lead singers, male & female, offer an even greater diversity in the emotions that arise when listening to Between Falls’ music.

“We were born during the 80′s, raised on the 90′s, grown aside the tunes of the early 2000′s and finally reached the enormous variety of styles and sounds of nowadays. The mixture of all these eras is what we see in our group. Making ourselves and those around us happy with our music is the greatest gift anyone could have. Nietzsche said it best – without music life would be a mistake”.

- About the Band - 

After ten years of silence, Abir and Daniel Lillman decided in the begining of 2012 to create a new band, Madness of the Night.
Inspired, hard working and great feedback. Only some months and the song “We are Gothrockers and we don´t care…” became the song
of the day at the swedish national radio P4. Madness of the Night was featured on Reverbnation and is currently number one on Alternative in Västerås city.

Daniel Lillman was in the swedish gothband Soulgrinder between 1993 – 2000. They released two albums, Enter and the digital cd “Forgiven ain´t forgotten”.

Abir lived in Beirut, she became a promoter for Soulgrinder with Gothland.com. Abir also created music with theatre and orcheastra in Lebanon.

Daniel and Abir made a music project, Erotic Chant. EC became number one on mp3.com´s darkwave/electronic  list with the song Dance.

Madness of the Night have released one MCD, “Voices of the People” and now they working on a full cd that will be released under the label, Massacre Records  in the begning of 2013.

The notes flow even when the leaves turn to gold. Fall music festivals may not get the press the summer festivals get, but if you think fall is the time for old Lawrence Welk reruns and stuffy lounge lizard shows, think again. There are fantastic fall music festivals throughout the country that will keep attendees grooving and enjoying genres of all sorts. Add in the crisp autumn days, leave changes and seasonal food and you get the makings of some of the best of the best for music lovers.

Here are five of the best upcoming fall music festivals around the country:

1. The Voodoo Experience – New Orleans, LA, October 26-28, 2012

The Big Easy is already established as an epicenter for jazz, Dixieland and funk. During the days surrounding Halloween, New Orleans brings in another festival that celebrates the Voodoo heritage of the city along with its rich musical history. The music fest takes place at the City Park and has numerous tents and headlining arenas. 2011′s line up included The Flaming Lips, Snoop Dogg, My Chemical Romance and such hometown familiars as Dr. John and Bonnie Raitt. Come in costume and enjoy mild weather for this autumn offering in South Louisiana.

2. Austin City Limits Fall Festival – Austin, TX, October 12-14, 2012

Capitalizing on the popular public television series “Austin City Limits”, Austin gets weird in the fall with a music festival celebrating the show. Headliners have included Stevie Wonder, Cee Lo Green, and have even had The Eagles as the main event. Have a Sheinerbach Beer and some Tex-Mex while you keep Austin weird during this autumn fest.

3. Treasure Island Music Festival – San Francisco, CA, October 16-17, 2012

This burgeoning music festival is held in the tiny community of Treasure Island area of San Francisco and goes day and night. Be prepared for the cold autumn nights as you sit and enjoy the musical offerings. Diverse and eclectic acts have included Yo La Tengo, Girl Talk, Ra Ra Riot and Surferblood. If you need to ask what else to do, see, eat or experience when in San Francisco you have been under a rock for a few years. However, if you need a few hints, be sure to head to the Haight and visit ground zero of the hippy movement and then take a trolley car down to the Wharf for the best seafood this side of Alaska.

4. CMJ Music Marathon, New York, NY, October 16-20, 2012

West coasters don’t get to have all the fun during the fall. The city so great they named it twice hosts the CMJ Music Marathon in late October. This one is a little different than standard style fests as DJs and spinmasters are invited to stream live during four days of live shows and coordinated Internet streaming. At this fest you can go to a club, catch a hot DJ, go to a show and then download it all post show in your hotel via the Internet. Be sure to grab some real New York style pizza and stroll the city people watching. As an added bonus, the leaves in Central Park are at their peak color changes, making for an explosion of reds, oranges and golds.

5. Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival, Joshua Tree, CA, October 12-14

It is hard to find a more beautiful setting for a music festival than the desert and chaparral environment of Joshua Tree in Southern California. In late October the desert daytime temperatures are mild and warm and the nights are downright chilly. Under the desert rock formations enjoy three days of live music and shows with artists such as Sean Hayes, Uber Kid, Anders Osborne and Earl Thomas. Acoustic, Americana, Roots and traditional country are all genres to be expected at this fall festival. Rock climbers need to bring their gear, as Joshua Tree is one of the premier climbing areas of North America. Camp, climb and enjoy roots music in the beautiful Sonoran-style desert.
