Alternative / Hip Hop artist Lil Dream’s first full-time project “Swipe Rixh2” is a melting pot of musical inspiration that portrays vividly the experiences of a young man living the fast life. The transitions and flows are depicted beautifully as he switches between rapping and singing, making slight changes to the voice and creating subtle differences in between. Dream is also aware of his vocal strengths and his limitations. As a result of which, he uses his voice efficiently as a complementary shade in the palette instead of just as a centerpiece. With stand-out tracks such as “Voss” and “Keyshuh”, the vocals bleed into the instrumentals and eventually blends into the surroundings. What keeps his songs fresh is the approach of stylistic allegiance to the auto-tune sound. The artist tends to switch modes more frequently.
