Rock band, Sons of Silver led by Pete Argyropoulos [vocals, guitar], Brina Kabler [keys, vocals], Kevin Haaland [lead guitar], Adam Kury [bass], and Dave Krusen (drums); have recently released their latest power-groove, funk-infused single “Cause of my pain”.

The song is from the band’s new EP Ordinary Sex Appeal, which was released earlier this month and is already gaining traction following it’s debut on VEVO’s Pure Rock and New Music Friday playlists. The music succeeds to begin with a catchy tune as the strumming of the guitar and the beats of the drums combine and that’s the point from where the listener is hooked right from the beginning. And the listener already knows what kind of song he or she is already going to enjoy.

Sons of Silver feed off this sort of face-to-face energy. A tried-and-true rock n’ roll band, they plug in and unlock a flood of emotions energized by unbridled guitars, fluid percussion, and a distinct vocal howl.

Frontman Argyropoulos shares some of his insight about the song and video, “Cause Of My Pain, like most of our songs,…came about from a jam session. I started looping on a guitar riff, Adam and Dave jumped in with a great groove and Kevin had an Angus Young moment with his addition of some chunky guitar chords”.

What’s more interesting is that as catchy is the tune so is the song’s lyrics. When following the lyrics, the listener might be compelled to wonder from which background is the song actually coming from. Well here’s what Argyropoulos has to say, “Writing and recording took place during the fall of 2020 and the socio-political theme of the lyrics was inspired by the intensity of the time. But I’m beginning to look at the song differently after shooting the video which features myself and Brina, the band’s keyboardist, and my wife. I now see it as a kind of love song. Not a warm and fuzzy love song. But, a very 2020-ish love song, nonetheless…”

There are other songs from band that you can enjoy listening. On the new EP you will find “Hesitate”, a brilliant blend of aggression and melody. There is also a melodically precise “Who’s Gonna Stop Us”. On the other end of the spectrum, clean guitar gives way to a sweeping melody on “With You.” Then there’s “ReEducation” which stomps along with an arena-ready chant.
