American pop singer and songwriter Kamryn Marie’s latest album release Under Control is packed with energy. Listening to the songs takes one back to the times when retro beats intertwined with soft leading vocals reminds one of the 80’s. Take the first song for instance –Somebody with a Broken Heart”—Kamryn appears to have fused the sound of the eighties with contemporary RnB verse that reminds one of the songs that we used to listen to when listening to radio songs was still a practice.
It is said that the opening track has little hints of Marvin Gaye’s song “Sexual Healing”, which is albeit with visions of lycra. But Kamryn has not allowed her album to completely lose its charm. Hence, even though while listening to her songs, one would feel like traveling back to the eighties, it is her authentic and captivating personality that influences listeners with her work.
In addition, judging by the storyline and the style of application, it appears that the singer tried to address teenagers who are yet or are already experiencing the different phases of a relationship, be it the early phase when the conversation kickstarts with just a “hi” or ends with a heartbreak.
